The
Meteor Foundry Company building emerges from the non-descript
surroundings of Bonhill Avenue like a brown-bricked clone of the
industrial park buildings that dot this sector of Mississauga. A
stylized meteorite adjacent to the property maintains the cosmic
theme.
The
attractive, if utilitarian 40,000 square foot physical plant gives
only the slightest hint of the workmanlike approach with which its
inhabitants go about the foundry business. The Meteor name suggests
dazzling brilliance, intensity and energy, but this company would
rather be known for simple diligence, and for turning out a product
regarded for its quality and dependability. But a flashy Meteor
name sticks in memory, no doubt conceived by the company's founders
for sake of reputation and renown.
Meteor Foundry recently marked its 35th anniversary of supplying
aluminum and zinc alloy castings, as well as a full range of services,
ranging from initial design to machined castings.
